DCS is located in close proximity to Thimphu city but located away from sources of continued vibrations like the airport (45 km) and other high risk zones, and is situated well above the flood level for the locality. Thimphu is a physically secure environment and is relatively peaceful and immune to strikes and civil unrest.

The data centre harnesses the innate advantages of Bhutan – the abundance of low cost sustainable green hydropower in the country, and low cooling costs due to its year-round cool climate, two major cost factors in data centre operations, to deliver a global standard facility which would rank amongst the best in the region.

Earthquake precautions:

The building is structurally designed to seismic zone 5 standards even though the recent studies show the Thimphu area falls in a less seismic zone.
